Rutilated Quartz/Lapis Doublet 13.8x10mm 7.36 carats 25.00 This will make a very unique piece of jewelry. |
Opal: Andamooka, Australia 33.5x15 mm 17.58 carats 8/ct 140.50 This is a very nice piece of opal. The color is much better than in the photo. There is no directionality to the color play either. This gem has great potential.
| | RHODOLITE GARNET 9.6x8.7 mm 2.42 carats 30/ct 72.50 |
GOLDEN ZIRCON 11.3x7.2 mm 4.07 carats 20/ct 81.50 The cutting on this gem is awesome. The color and brilliance are much better than in the photo. This is one of my three most favorite gemstone presently in stock.
| | BI-COLOR AMETHYST 12.6x7.4 mm 2.61 carats 7/ct 18.50 Very neat. |
METEORITE 31x28.9 mm 37.86 carats 1.25/ct 47.50 This gem is from a meteor that was recovered in the Sahara Desert in 1997. The earth tones are absolutely wonderful.
| | OBSIDIAN 24.5x23.8 mm 18.42 carats 1.25/ct 23.00 The bands visible in this stone are probably caused by the obsidian flowing during formation. They cause some really interesting optical effects in the stone. |
IOLITE 23.6x10.1mm 5.73 carats 8/ct 46.00This carving is well cut and nearly eyeclean. The design potential with this piece is almost limitless.
| | Sugilite 33x10mm 21.47 carats 3/ct 64.50 This is another of my three most favorite stones in stock. The pattern on it looks like a snake skin. Really neat. |
Mawsitsit 33.5x14.8 mm 18.66 carats 5/ct 93.50 This is another gemstone that is only found in one location worldwide, Burma. The material is similar in composition to imperial jade. The green and black patterns are very beautiful.
| | Hexagonite 20.2x17.7 mm 12.17 carats 3/ct 36.50 This is chemically identical to the chrome tremolite that I have listed on the cabachon page. The only difference is that this is colored purple/pink by manganese and it is not quite as rare as the chrome material. This is also only found in Balmat, New York. |
Koroit Opal 33.5x15.2 mm 9.51 carats 6/ct 57.00 The patterns in this opal are very interesting. There is also a small amount of precious opal in the piece that adds a nice amount of color to the earth tones. Great design potential.
| | Quartz, Raspberry 18.3x16.1 mm 15.64 carats 3/ct 78.20 This is a rare gem material from Mexico. Very little of it has been found since the 1960's. The color is due to fibrous red inclusions, probably hematite, that cause a slight chatoyancy in the stone. |
Morrisonite Jasper 33x15.1 mm 13.59 carats 24This is a very nice jasper from Oregon. The color and pattern are very pleasing.
